I’m running into technical issues when trying to join the class

Step 1: If you have another laptop, tablet or computer in the house, the best thing to do is see if that works, we find it’s usually the quickest solution!

Step 2: The issue could be in relation to internet connectivity issues. This could be because internet usage is so high at the moment with everyone working from home. If you could please try the following to try to help solve this, it would be greatly appreciated: (i) Reset your internet router. (i.e. your internet box). To do this, turn off your internet box for a few minutes then turn it back on. (ii) Disconnect other devices from the WiFi (for example your phone, any other laptops, etc.) (iii) To improve your connection, if you have a LAN cable at home, we recommend you connect this from your internet router to your laptop to improve your internet speed.

Step 3: Close your current internet browser and paste the test link into a different internet browser. So for example, if you are on Internet Explorer, try using Google Chrome. If you don’t have Google Chrome try downloading this and proceeding as instructed above.

Step 4: If all the above fails, please email reception@babyacademy.ie for further assistance

Ultimate Antenatal Class

What time are classes at?

Our full-day Antenatal Class takes place between 9:30 am – 4:30 pm. We take a break after every 90 minutes or so, for a cuppa and leg stretch, as well as a lunch break.

What is an Antenatal Class?

Antenatal classes are designed to help you and your partner prepare for labour, birth, and early parenthood. The majority of antenatal classes will focus mostly on labour and birth, with others guiding you through late pregnancy, and on what life with a newborn baby may be like. At The Baby Academy, we ensure to cover both. In addition, we believe that Baby First Aid is one of the most important things you can learn as an expectant parent, so unlike many other classes, we’ve included it as part of our full-day Antenatal class at no extra cost. We understand that going to a class to learn about parenthood can seem very outdated. There’s plenty of information available on the internet, and you’re surrounded by family and friends who are offering you advice (sometimes whether you’re asking for it or not!). However, all those different sources don’t necessarily agree, and they tend to be shaded by people’s personal opinions. Our course is designed to provide you with most of the up-to-date information you need, as well as the different options you have for each aspect of your pregnancy and birth. We ensure parents feel relaxed and are prepared for the life-changing journey ahead 👶

Can we ask about pregnancy and COVID-19?

Absolutely. We understand that this is an anxious time for everyone, not least pregnant women and partners. You will have the ability to ask any questions you may have regarding your pregnancy and Covid-19 👍

I am worried that hospital tours are cancelled

In our full-day Antenatal Class, you will receive access to a virtual tour of a delivery suite, as we understand hospital tours are currently cancelled 🏩

Who are the instructors?

Great education all start with one thing: great teaching. Our classes are delivered by the most well-loved and passionate Midwife antenatal instructors. Our team of midwives are leading experts in their field and ensure you leave our online class armed with the knowledge you need to make your own decisions for you and your baby. Our Experts recommend you attend our antenatal class ideally in your second or third trimester. Booking early is advised as there is limited availability

This is a great way for the partner to feel more connected to the pregnancy, especially as they’re not the ones physically carrying your little baby. As well as preparing you for the journey from bump to baby, our online full-day Antenatal Class can help your partner know what to expect. They give your partner a better idea of what is going to happen to you during delivery and of complications that could arise. Ultimate Hypnobirthing Class

What time are classes at?

Our Ultimate Hypnobirthing Class takes place on Saturdays between 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. We take a break after 90 minutes or so, for a cuppa and leg stretch.

What is a Hypnobirthing Class?

Hypnobirthing explains how our bodies will produce perfect quantities of these hormones when we are relaxed and calm, we also explain how stress and fear can interfere with their production. So naturally, hypnobirthing involves techniques which empower both you and your birthing partner to stay calm, in control and confident in the run up to, during and after your baby’s birth. There’s plenty of information available on the internet, and you’re surrounded by family and friends who are offering you advice (sometimes whether you’re asking for it or not!). However, all those different sources don’t necessarily agree, and they tend to be shaded by people’s personal opinions. Our course is designed to provide you with most of the up-to-date and evidence-based information equipping you with skills, confidence, and peace of mind throughout your pregnancy and labour. 👶
