Where is the online class held?

We have developed a bespoke online platform that brings our Childbirth Class to you live, with multiple functionalities to ensure you receive your Childbirth Education as if you were there in person. Should my partner watch the class with me?

Absolutely. We recommend that both mother and partner watch our classes together. This is a great way for the partner to feel more connected to the pregnancy, especially as they’re not the ones physically carrying your little baby. As well as preparing you for the journey from bump to baby, the online childbirth class can help your partner know what to expect. They give your partner a better idea of what is going to happen to you during delivery and of complications that could arise. This can help them to stay calmer as you give birth, so they are better able to truly be there for you when you need it most šŸ’šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

What is a Childbirth Class?

Childbirth Classes, also known as Birthing Classes, are designed to help you and your partner prepare for labor, birth, and early parenthood. The majority of childbirth classes will focus mostly on labor and birth, with others guiding you through late pregnancy, and on what life with a newborn baby may be like. At The Baby Academy, we ensure to cover both. In addition, we believe that Baby First Aid is one of the most important things you can learn as an expectant parent, so unlike many other birthing classes, we’ve included it as part of our Childbirth Class at no extra cost. We understand that going to a class to learn about parenthood can seem very outdated. There’s plenty of information available on the internet, and you’re surrounded by family and friends who are offering you advice (sometimes whether you’re asking for it or not!). However, all those different sources don’t necessarily agree, and they tend to be shaded by people’s personal opinions. Our course is designed to provide you with most of the up-to-date information you need, as well as the different options you have for each aspect of your pregnancy and birth. We ensure parents feel relaxed and are prepared for the life-changing journey ahead šŸ‘¶

When should I attend your Childbirth Class?

Our Experts recommend you attend our childbirth class ideally in your second or third trimester. Booking early is advised as there is limited availability.

I’m running into technical issues when trying to join the class

Step 1:Ā If you have another laptop, tablet or computer in the house, the best thing to do is see if that works, we find it’s usually the quickest solution!

Step 2:Ā The issue could be in relation to internet connectivity issues. This could be because internet usage is so high at the moment with everyone working from home. If you could please try the following to try to help solve this, it would be greatly appreciated: (i) Reset your internet router. (i.e. your internet box). To do this, turn off your internet box for a few minutes then turn it back on. (ii) Disconnect other devices from the WiFi (for example your phone, any other laptops, etc.) (iii) To improve your connection, if you have a LAN cable at home, we recommend you connect this from your internet router to your laptop to improve your internet speed.

Step 3:Ā Close your current internet browser and paste the test link into a different internet browser. So for example, if you are on Internet Explorer, try using Google Chrome. If you don’t have Google Chrome try downloading this and proceeding as instructed above.

Step 4: If all the above fails, please email [email protected] for further assistance
