Where is the online class held?
We have developed a bespoke online platform that brings our classes to you live with multiple functionalities to ensure you receive Antenatal and Postnatal education as if you were there in person. We could have pre-recorded the class and brought it to you on Zoom or Skype, however, we are committed to delivering you the best education.
Is this class live?
Yes, our classes are live and take place on our tailored online platform. You do not require a video or microphone, as you are not required to be seen or heard in the class. You can ask any questions you may have in the live chat and our expert health professional will be delighted to answer.
So I can ask questions?
Correct. The class is not a pre-recorded class. Attendees have the ability to ask questions and this best replicates an in-person class.
How do I access my online class?
You will receive an email the Wednesday before your class containing the link to access your class. If you don’t see this email, it could be in your spam folder. If for any reason you don’t receive the link pop us an email on reception@mybabyacademy.co.uk There is no need to download anything in advance, The link will take you right there.
Do I require any special technology to do the online class?
All you require is a standard laptop or PC and an internet connection. You do not require a microphone or camera.
Will I be seen or heard throughout the class?
Brilliant question! The instructor is the only one who will be seen and heard throughout the class so you do not need to worry about having a webcam or microphone. Feel free to stay in your comfies! They will give opportunities during the class to ask any questions you may have through a webchat.
Do I need any materials or props for the class?
For some demonstrations, we advise practicing on a doll or teddy.
Are your classes online only or do you also offer in-person classes?
At the moment all of our classes take place live online on Saturdays.
I didn’t get a confirmation email, what should I do?
Our class links for Saturday will be sent out on the Thursday before class. We can only send them a couple of days before so the link does not expire as all classes are live online! Also, be sure to check your spam. The email will be coming from Rachel Drew on our reception desk and it may be the first communication from her so it is more likely to be diverted to this folder, unfortunately! If for any reason you don’t receive it, by Friday morning please email reception@mybabyacademy.co.uk.
I didn’t get a class link, what should I do?
You will receive the link in an email on the Wednesday before your class. If you don’t see it, it could be in your spam, or you may have entered a typo when originally registering. Pop us an email on reception@mybabyacademy.co.uk
Can my partner join the class from another location?
Absolutely, Please leave a note on the booking or email reception@mybabyacademy.co.uk with the email address they will use to join the class. Our team would be more than happy to add them to the list ensuring they will be able to get access on the day.
I can’t make the paid class, what are my options?
If you send an email to reception@mybabyacademy.co.uk explaining your situation and preferred action they will do their best to assist you further. Please include your order details in the process.
I didn’t get my class notes, what should I do?
We send out the class notes on the Tuesday following your class. If for any reason you did not receive your class notes please email us on reception@mybabyacademy.co.uk and we will ensure you receive your relevant class notes.
I have a follow-up question for the instructor from the class, How can I pass it on?
If you email reception@mybabyacademy.co.uk we will do our best to assist you. As always, if your query is urgent or you are experiencing anything that causes you concern, please contact your healthcare provider, who will have access to your records and perform a physical examination if necessary, allowing them to see the bigger picture and tailor a specific answer to your question!
I’m running into technical issues when trying to join the class
Step 1: If you have another laptop, tablet or computer in the house, the best thing to do is see if that works, we find it’s usually the quickest solution!
Step 2: The issue could be in relation to internet connectivity issues. This could be because internet usage is so high at the moment with everyone working from home. If you could please try the following to try to help solve this, it would be greatly appreciated: (i) Reset your internet router. (i.e. your internet box). To do this, turn off your internet box for a few minutes then turn it back on. (ii) Disconnect other devices from the WiFi (for example your phone, any other laptops, etc.) (iii) To improve your connection, if you have a LAN cable at home, we recommend you connect this from your internet router to your laptop to improve your internet speed.
Step 3: Close your current internet browser and paste the test link into a different internet browser. So for example, if you are on Internet Explorer, try using Google Chrome. If you don’t have Google Chrome try downloading this and proceeding as instructed above.
Step 4: If all the above fails, please email reception@mybabyacademy.co.uk for further assistance
How can I unsubscribe to texts/emails?
Please email reception@mybabyacademy.co.uk who will be able to remove you from our database.

Our full-day Antenatal Class takes place between 9:30 am – 4:30 pm. We take a break after every 90 minutes or so, for a cuppa and leg stretch, as well as a lunch break.
Antenatal classes are designed to help you and your partner prepare for labour, birth, and early parenthood. The majority of antenatal classes will focus mostly on labour and birth, with others guiding you through late pregnancy, and on what life with a newborn baby may be like. At The Baby Academy, we ensure to cover both. In addition, we believe that Baby First Aid is one of the most important things you can learn as an expectant parent, so unlike many other classes, we’ve included it as part of our full-day Antenatal class at no extra cost. We understand that going to a class to learn about parenthood can seem very outdated. There’s plenty of information available on the internet, and you’re surrounded by family and friends who are offering you advice (sometimes whether you’re asking for it or not!). However, all those different sources don’t necessarily agree, and they tend to be shaded by people’s personal opinions. Our course is designed to provide you with most of the up-to-date information you need, as well as the different options you have for each aspect of your pregnancy and birth. We ensure parents feel relaxed and are prepared for the life-changing journey ahead 👶
Absolutely. We understand that this is an anxious time for everyone, not least pregnant women and partners. You will have the ability to ask any questions you may have regarding your pregnancy and Covid-19 👍
